Milestones

Alhamdullilah, with the grace and mercy of Allah our school has been able to achieve much in the academic and sporting fields as well as assist disadvantaged schools. What follows is by no means an exhaustive list, but is merely some of the achievements and activities that our school and learners are involved in:
    
2001

  • Winterveld Citrus Project – an ongoing project with the Mayor’s office. Our school supplied the initial 1000 orange trees and boreholes to farmers in the area.   
  • Rated one of the top 35 Mathematics and Science schools in the country by the Sunday Times “Best School Survey”

2002

  • Malaysian High Commissioner visited our school in March
  • Our learners took part in the opening ceremony at the World Summit for Sustainable Development
  • We achieved the highest exemption pass rate and the 3rd highest distinction rate in the District – Tshwane South


2003

  • The play an  “ORPHAN’S TALE” written by the world renowned Zain Bhika was presented at the school
  • Overall winners of the Lotus Gardens Primary Schools Speech Contests
  • The school was also awarded the Mayoral Matric Award from the Executive Mayor of the city of Tshwane


2004  

  • Enver Surtee, Deputy Minister of Education, was a guest speaker at the Annual Fund Raising Dinner.
  • Overall winners of the Lotus Gardens Primary Schools Speech Contest
  • Overall winners of the Gauteng Department of Education Maths and Science Quiz where each member of the team received a medal sanctioned by President Thabo Mbeki
  • The University of Pretoria recognized the school as one of the top feeder schools in South Africa at a special function held in May

2005

  • Jackie Mofekeng the MEC for Safety and Security visited our school in March
  • Feed the Needy Scheme”- our grade 8 learners collect money and buy bread to distribute to each child at the Steve Tshwete Secondary School in Olievenhoutbosch
  • Setting up of two computer centres at the Motlhaputseng high school and the Kgosibodiba Secondary School in the North West Province.
  • Overall winners of the ISSA (Independent Schools Sports Association of all private schools in Laudium) soccer league for the U13, U15 and U17 and overall winners of the Table Tennis Tournament.  

 

The Sunday Times in their “Best School Survey” rated our school as:

One of the top performing schools in the country in 1999 and 2000

36th in 1999 and 38th in 2000 out of 5505 schools countrywide
